The Chicago Inter men’s team has been pretty busy this spring season, winning the California Cup and taking 3rd place in West Point. But this did not stop the team from participating in two Midwest scrimmage tournaments hosted by the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
Because it was not a sanctioned event, players from the Chicago Inter women’s team were able to help out the men’s team as well, leading to a great team bonding event for everyone involved.
On March 1st, Chicago Inter defeated the host UW-Milwaukee 32-27 in a close and exciting match and took down Illinois State in the second game 35-22.
On March 22nd, Chicago Inter arrived with 18 players and decided to split into two teams, to ensure that every player could get a lot of playing time before nationals. The two teams played UW-Milwaukee and Western Illinois University and were able to defeat both teams.
All in all, UW-Milwaukee did a terrific job in hosting the Midwest’s finest teams, bringing the teams closer together in the hope of one day starting regular league games in the Midwest as well.
