In light of the current situation and the recommendations from officials regarding social distancing and limiting gatherings and travel to the absolutely necessary, the Chicago Inter Handball Board of Directors has elected to suspend all club-driven activities effective immediately.
While the majority of our members are in the lower-risk demographic based on currently available information, we felt it was in the best interest of our members and their loved ones to limit the possibility of spreading the virus.
This suspension will remain in effect through the end of March 2020, at which time we will reassess the situation and provide an update.
Practically, this means that all Chicago Inter practices and club-organized team bonding events, and all Midwest League events* within that time frame are cancelled. While we cannot dictate what players do outside of the club, we strongly encourage our members to take all necessary precautions if planning gatherings.
*Midwest League events impacted by this include the game day in Appleton, WI (scheduled for 14-Mar) and the Chicago-Concordia game (scheduled for 21-Mar). For now, the Milwaukee-Chicago game (scheduled for 15-Apr) is maintained.
Thank you all for your understanding.
